Love is not about being a saint. You can't be loving towards everyone all the time.
And guess what? You can still enjoy violence in films and games, trash talk with your friends, listen to Parental Advisory Explicit Content Music, or complain about your boss or fellow student.
In short: it's not about NOT having fun. The only thing you may pay more attention to is: do my words and actions hurt other people?
Live and let live. Or: you can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't affect people in a negative way.
To go even further: it's also not about being perfect or never hurting someone. In fact, it is nearly impossible for anyone to NOT make a mistake. You can tell yourself, your loved one, or anyone else for that matter, that you will never ever hurt them, argue with them, never disappoint them or lie to them. But sooner or later, it will happen.
Why? Simply put, because you are human. And human beings make mistakes (except for very few, who are actually saints or enlightened).
So what's the point here, what's the message, “the goal?” It is simply this: to become more aware.
